English-Speaking Therapy in Munich
English-language therapy in the heart of Munich — for individuals, couples, and families navigating life abroad.
For 17 years, PsyShrink has provided therapy in English from our practice in central Munich. We work with expats, international professionals, and their families on the things that come with building a life between cultures: burnout, anxiety, adjustment, relationship strain, and the particular weight of doing it all far from home.
Whether you want to meet in person in Munich or work entirely online, you can start with a free 15-minute consultation — or browse our Munich therapists and choose for yourself.
What we help with
Burnout and high-achiever exhaustion. When rest stops working and pushing through isn’t an option anymore.
Anxiety. The persistent, low-grade dread of managing life in an unfamiliar system, plus everything else you’re carrying.
Adjustment and cultural transition. The identity shifts, the loneliness, the strange grief of leaving one life for another.
Couples therapy. International relationships face structural pressures most couples never deal with — career sacrifices, relocation strain, distance from support.
Family therapy. Support for expat and international families, including specialist work with teenagers and third-culture kids.
Why clients choose PsyShrink in Munich
Genuinely English-speaking. Native and fluent English-speaking therapists. You won’t be translating your feelings.
Multilingual when you need it. Beyond English, our therapists also work across other languages — therapy in the language you think and feel in.
Real expertise in expat life. We understand international living because we live it — cultural adjustment, identity shifts, relationship strain.
Properly qualified and insurance-friendly. Our therapists practise under the German Heilpraktikergesetz. We work with private German insurance and provide superbills for US out-of-network reimbursement. See how US insurance works for therapy in Germany →

Frequently asked questions
Are sessions in English? Yes — our Munich therapists are native or fluent English speakers, and several work in additional languages too.
Can I be seen in person? Yes, at our central Munich practice near Sendlinger Tor — or online if you prefer.
Do you take public insurance? No. Services aren’t covered by German public (gesetzliche) insurance. However, clients with private German insurance may be able to claim, and we provide superbills for US out-of-network reimbursement (often 50–80% once your deductible is met).
What does it cost? Fees vary by therapist and session type — individual and couples sessions are priced differently. Details are on each therapist’s profile.
I’m not sure who to choose. That’s what the free consultation is for. Tell us what’s happening and we’ll help you find a therapist who best fits your needs.
