About Me
My name is Dr. Viola Drancoli, I am a clinical psychologist licensed by in the State of New York (Lic: 020598) and I offer psychological services such as psychotherapy, consultations, business coaching and crisis intervention. I work with individuals and couples from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Availability and Bookings
Please email me or call the office if you would like to schedule an appointment since I am often at full capacity. My office hours are tailored around regular business hours and usually allow for evening appointments. Services can be provided in English or German.
Qualifications
- BA and MA in Psychology at California State University Los Angeles
- Doctorate and clinical training at California School of Professional Psychology
- Licensed to practice in the US and in Germany
- Certified Business Coach (OEZPA)
In my training I focused on forensic psychology as well as multicultural competence, and I have worked with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and all walks of life. Previous work settings include the Bleuler Psychotherapy Clinic in New York City, the Emergency Outreach Bureau’s Psychiatric Mobile Response Team, a domestic violence shelter, a psychiatric prison ward and a forensic outpatient clinic in Los Angeles. I hold extensive experience in the area of sexual behavior problems and violence (assessment, treatment, consultation for relatives). I also acted as a consultant for an award show, rating movies and advising on the accurate portrayal of mental health issues in the media.
Therapeutic Style
My therapeutic style can be described as primarily psychodynamic, but I also like to utilize systems theory, psychoanalytic concepts and Mentalisation Based Therapy when appropriate.
